No, participating in Ostras is completely free. You can win rewards by simply rescuing food that has an expiry date of 5 days or less. Take the opportunity to contribute to reducing food waste while earning rewards for your actions.

6. Where can I earn from Ostras rewards?
During this pilot phase, our service and rewards are currently available only in Spain. The products covered by this PROMOTION include all food items with an expiration date of 5 days or less that the Participant has purchased from a physical supermarket in Spain—regardless of the supermarket.

7. How to earn rewards when buying products with an expiry date of 5 days or less?
Steps to participate:
- Purchase up to 3 units of participating products per receipt in a physical supermarket.
- Keep the purchase receipt as proof.
- Scan the QR code on the Ostras homepage or click on one of the following links (English / Spanish) to activate the WhatsApp flow.
- Send the message via WhatsApp to start participating in the promotion.
- Receive a link to the participation form via WhatsApp.
- Complete the form, upload valid purchase receipts (legible, uncut, showing the retailer’s name, the products, the amounts paid, and the date), as well as photos of the product labels with visible expiration dates, and provide the requested information, including the necessary details for processing the refund.
- Accept the Legal Terms and the Privacy Policy.

8. When should I submit my supermarket tickets?
You have 24 hours from the time of purchase to upload your ticket. It is crucial that the date and time of purchase are clearly visible on the photo you capture. Make sure the image is clear to facilitate the verification process. We recommend that you send the receipt as soon as you have made the purchase.
9. What kind of receipts can I upload?
You can upload receipts from any physical supermarket —regardless of the chain— in Spain, for products you bougth that had an expiration date of 5 days or less. Ensure the receipt is legible, with the purchase date and saved products clearly visible.
10. How long does it take to validate my receipt?
Once your receipt is uploaded, the validation process can take up to 72 hours. You will receive a email when your receipt has been approved and the rewarded Ostras Points will be automatically credited to you.
11. Can I upload more than one receipt per day?
Yes, you can upload multiple receipts, but each receipt must be for a different purchase. However, please make sure that you have purchased products with an expiry date of less than 5 days on this purchase.
12. Can I share my supermarket tickets with other Ostras users?
Each ticket can only be used once! If the same receipt is submitted by several users, only the first user who submitted it will receive the related Ostras Points.
13. What happens if my receipt is rejected?
If your receipt is rejected, we will inform you of the reason via email. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
14. Can I earn rewards for products that do not expire in less than 5 days?
No, rewards only apply to products with an expiry date of less than 5 days. Be sure to check expiry dates before submitting a reward request in the app.
15. How do I receive the rewards?
- Refunds will be made via PayPal or bank transfer (IBAN), according to the participant’s choice when completing the reward request form. The refund may take up to 15 days from the validation of the request.
- Once participation is validated, the user will receive a confirmation email.
In case of errors or incomplete data, the participant will be notified and may correct the information until Saturday of the same week of the request.
